Jamie Scripps comes to the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth with legal experience in energy and environmental law as well as a teaching background. Her areas of expertise are: renewable energy, energy efficiency, and environmental legislation. She practiced local government law with Sondee, Racine & Doren PLC in Traverse City from 2008-2009. Jamie was instrumental in working on the comprehensive energy statute changes when she served as deputy policy director for the Michigan Environmental Council from 2007-2008. She practiced environmental law with Venable LLP in Washington, D.C. from 2005-2007.
Jamie earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1999; a Master’s in Leadership Studies from North Central College in 2002; and her J.D. from the University of Michigan in 2005. Currently she splits her time between Lansing and Northwest Lower Michigan, where her husband, Dan Scripps, serves as state representative for the 101st District in the Michigan House of Representatives. |
