Lamar University’s College of Engineering has five academic departments: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering; three environmental research centers: the Texas Hazardous Waste Research Center (THWRC), the Gulf Coast Hazardous Substances Research Center (GCHSRC), and the Texas Air Research Center (TARC); the Center for Fuel Cell and Energy Systems (CFCES); the Green Composite Research Center (GCRC); the Center for Transportation/Ports and Waterways (CTPW); the Center for Process and Information Technology (CPIT) and the Aldredge Air Quality Modeling Center (AAQMC); the Material Instrumentation Center (MIC); the Renewable Energy Center (REC). The College has interdisciplinary research focused under the Texas Center for Technology Incubation (TCTI).
