Member Highlight

University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee has a very active wind energy research group. Our group is made up by two faculties from Mechanical Engineering, three faculties from EECS, and one faculty from mathematic science and one from the atmospheric science. Since 2007, our group has been receiving strong financial and material support from local power companies and manufacturing companies in wind industry. Recently, working with MATC, UW-Milwaukee received funding from DOE 20% Wind Challenging program to develop three integrated certificate programs for workforce development in wind industry. Our proposal entitled “Southeast Wisconsin Wind Energy Educational Collaborative” will create an integrated curriculum and meet the ready workforce challenge of 20% Wind by 2030 at different levels of education and technological knowledge, ranging from technicians to advanced engineers.
